They provide full-time care for up to 49 babies and children from birth to five years of age. The director, social worker as well as various staff members care for the children 24 hours a day.
The children are managed according to their ages:
Group A – babies younger than 18 months
Group B – toddlers from 18 months to two years
Group C – children aged from two to just six years old. The children have been referred to them by social workers and placed there by order of a children’s court. They are neglected, abandoned, abused, orphaned and are accepted at the home irrespective of HIV status, race or gender.
Christine Revell Children’s Home creates a warm, friendly and homely environment with the sole purpose of rehabilitating the child to return to its parents. Decisions regarding the future of the children are always taken with the full involvement of the social worker, the social worker who referred the child to them, the family and children’s courts.

They are a registered non-profit organisation, providing a safe, secure and therapeutic home for children from families in crisis.
Their aim is to work towards the reconstruction and reunification of families wherever possible and they work with others in the fields of Social Welfare to achieve this.
Humanity, compassion and involvement with the needy and broken in spirit is what spurs St Mary’s on to help with the rehabilitation of children who come from broken homes.
They have a waiting list of children in need of admission through the Children’s Court and receive daily enquiries from the community regarding family and child issues.
