QuadPara Association of South Africa was established in 1978. One of QASA’s main areas of focus is that of developing the skills and the employment potential of people with disabilities. QASA has a number of initiatives to tackle these barriers and provide opportunities for people with disabilities to gain skills and qualifications.
Not having transport is a huge barrier for people with disabilities who want to lead an independent life, and QASA started a pilot project in KwaZulu-Natal to teach people with mobility impairments to drive a vehicle fitted with hand controls.
The Association doesn’t only benefit quadriplegics, but also paraplegics. Their focus is on serving quadriplegics, paraplegics and the disability sector in general in whatever capacity their members find most constructive. They help people with mobility impairments to lead independent lives with a decent standard of living, in areas ranging from personal care to adequate skills development and employment.
Any person who wishes to make use of the services offered by QuadPara Association is welcome to contact them:

Vincenzo is a clinical psychologist helping those who want to rehabilitate themselves from the grip of anxiety and depression, and to make a healthy change in their life. His work is psychoanalytic and aims to help people deepen their understanding of themselves and to work towards enjoying life and feeling more at ease with themselves and others.
The first few sessions will be an assessment. The assessment phase also allows you to consider whether you are comfortable working with him which is important, as therapy is based on openness and you want to feel totally comfortable with your therapist.
How he approaches therapy depends on his assessment findings. Psychodynamic psychotherapy is a method of verbal communication used to help a person find relief from emotional pain. This process will give Vincent the chance to learn about the person and to gain insight into their troubles, and to formulate how treatment should proceed to rehabilitate the person from depression and anxiety.
Many patients benefit from individual psychotherapy, but sometimes additional therapies like family therapy or couples therapy in combination with individual treatment is necessary.
